Setlist baby

Drenched in the sweat of hundreds and hundreds of people, with a ringing noise in my right ear and an intense backpain I am home from the Bring Me The Horizon concert. As always, going to the gig was more of a job than amusement for me, this time ten times more intense. It was sort of like going to India for a couple of months; an enormous amount of impressions that you forgot when you came home and now you are just exhausted, beat and feel like withdrawing from the soicety for a couple of weeks. However I am satisfied with the experience and tonight has made me realize how many fucking douchebags there are that listen to Bmth nowdays. And I got the setlist after the gig which is kinda cool in some way I guess. Another interesting thing to mention is that this was the first time ever that I went to a concert alone. This was actually pretty nice since I didn't have to worry about loosing someone and I felt more relaxed than I do otherwise.

The concert's in 3 hours and I'm getting ready to leave for the bar to intoxicate myself so I'll shout as loud as possible at the concert. I have had a problem deciding wether I should wear my BMTH tee or not. Someone once told me that only dickheads wears the bands tees at their concerts. However that guy was a dickhead. Still I think I'll leave the shirt at home today.

"New" Breathe Carolina Demo

I'm constantly stressed about stuff that I miss and discover way past the freshness duedate. Like this Breathe Carolina demo that I found randomly on youtube. My thoughts on the song? Don't have many, just think it sounds a bit old and uninteresting, which totally sucks since they've gotten better and better since day one. Is there no hope for emotronica anymore? It seems that the best songs of the genre mainly were produced in 06'-09', the golden years when everything was produced in garageband and fruityloops. The biggest loss of Breathe Carolina in my opinion, is the sentimentality in the older BC songs. There was still some of that in Hello Fascination but it seems as if they've taken a step back to a more minimalistic sound. However, I'm mainly making these statements based on a 30 sec. clip, so I should probably not bother and just go to sleep now.

Btw I'm pretty pissed that they don't ship T. Mills tees to Sweden. Someone do something about this please.

Even though I'm flat broke life is good these days (and I'm not exaggerating, I don't own a single dime, I just pray I survive this month without starving to death.) I've started to feel like a child when I wake up these days. And sometimes I'm even so happy that I'm nice to my friends! This could be because I've watched like 15 childrens movies the last week, 6 of them was good old Swedish-dubbed Pokémon movies. And all the pieces are being put together, everyday it becomes more likely that I'll go to Korea in February. So... good for me yes.

A girl that I've come to hate once told me something very valuable.

It happened the first time we met, at a bad club with bad music, as she asked me what kind of music I was into. I answered her that I listen to a great variety of music and if I remember right they were playing Tough Alliance on the dancefloor. So I told her that I actually liked Tough Alliance but I hated the song that was being played and that I hate it when other people dance and sing along to it. And she answered me that "yeah, I guess that it all comes down to the right circumstance."

The Pink Album

I own this album on vinyl, have it on my iphone and I have added Sunny Day Real Estate as a like on my Facebook. But to be completely honest, I have never given this album a thorough listening until tonight. The reason for this is simply that this album is extremely hard to listen to.

It is not your typical film-soundtrack material, cozy dinner background-music or a record that is satisfying to listen to. However, this does not make it a bad album. As a matter of fact, it is very good and extremely captivating if you're in the mood. There is a lot of interesting facts and stories concerning the making and background of the album but I'm not going to get into that kinda stuff, because it's irrelevant. I'm pretty good with words but terrible with thoughts so I'll just leave it at that.

And how long would it take me, to walk across Sweden, all alone?

The only voice I want to hear is yours.

Went to see Green Hornet with my hwong Bad Boy HJ. I enjoyed the film and haven't any interesting comments to provide with, sorry for that. Afterwards we went to Dovas, Stockholms St. Elmos Bar to have a post-cinematic beer experience, where we met some friends of mine who were going to see Narnia. After this i surrendered towards my home, enjoyng the epic hymns of Angels And Airwaves.

...anyone would read this blog if I started posting personal things, shit that I eat and pretty pictures of myself?

On a tad more serious note.

This "blog" is supposed to be my channel of focus on American contemporary music and such. But at times, most of them when I'm drunk, I'm reminded of the music that makes this world go around. Bands that compose beautiful and touching songs like Blink 182 and Bring me the Horizon has made several incredibly beautiful songs and I love them all but there are still compositions that stands above these, classical orchestral symphonies which melodies can tell stories greater than loveproblems and boys feeling left out from their friends. These songs touch me so deeply, as if they had hands, piercing through my chest and grabbing my heart directly. These compositions tells the stories of life, emotions and what surpasses them. Just with a few strokes on the violin and a few touches from the piano. And it almost makes me want to cry.

3OH!3 is the only reason I go out.
3OH!3 is the only reason I even try to have fun.
3OH!3 is the sole reason of me even appearing outside my house.

Shit. Maybe it's because I am drunk as a fish but this song almost makes me cry. Mostly, if not only, because this band does and is everything I want to be and do. A Swedish Post-Hardcore band, I wanted to be in the first. Well at least the first Stockholm-based band. But no one of my friends want to be a part of this. I have one friend in the world that likes this kind of music. Oh well, the life goes on and such, but I will die alone, miserable and unsatisfied. I keep wondering if the baseplayer is the guy from my school that I think he is... recognize the bandname though.

It took long and serious consideration to compile the yearlist of 2010.
But somehow I just forgot about this beauty of an album. With one of the definitely 3 greatest albums of 2010, Abandon All Ships came closer to perfecting the posthardcore/electronica genre than any band has so far. Although I'll have to say that I wish for this band, as I wish for Enter Shikari, to have had mixed the melodic electronica parts with the raw breakdowns and metalriffs, instead of just chopping them up into different sections. Nevertheless this was a fantastic album and a step closer to another fantastic genree. So, for forgetting you AAS, I'm sooorryyy.
